Laura’s experience financing technology companies has fueled her passion for the startup ecosystem. Most recently, she led venture debt transactions for early-stage companies as Vice President, Credit Solutions at Silicon Valley Bank. Prior to joining the IAF, she facilitated the transition of the SVB Canada loan book to National Bank as part of its acquisition in August 2023.

Laura started her career in various banking groups at CIBC. She joined CIBC Innovation Banking as the team’s first internal hire where she supported venture debt transactions in the enterprise software space across Canada and the US.

Laura holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Queen’s University. She is one of the founding members of Canadian Women in VC, a community committed to developing the next generation of self-identified female VCs through professional development, networking, and support.
